An e-foil is a board with an electric motor and a hydrofoil wing under the water. It is easy to learn and very safe when you respect a few rules — most of them are about how to fall and where to ride.

Built-In Safety
- Wrist leash and cut-off — the remote is connected to your wrist; if you fall, the motor stops immediately.
- Helmet and impact vest — worn by every rider in every Kite Club session.
- Instructor in the water — in lessons the instructor stays with you for the whole session.
How to Fall
- Let go of the throttle first — the board slows down before you hit the water.
- Fall away from the board, to the side, flat on the water — never towards the foil.
- Stay low and relaxed; a stiff, upright fall is what hurts.
- After falling, surface calmly and locate the board before swimming back.
Where to Ride
- Only in the area your instructor sets for the session.
- Well away from swimmers, snorkellers and moored boats.
- In water deep enough for the mast — never in the shallows.
- Look where you are going and give way to everyone on the water.
Most first-session falls happen when riders get excited and squeeze the throttle. Smooth, gradual speed changes keep you on the foil longer and make every fall softer.
Who Can Ride
E-foil sessions at Kite Club are open from age 12; riders under 18 need parental consent. No experience or wind is needed. Tell us about any injuries before your session. Intro sessions start at 2,000 THB for 30 minutes — see e-foil sessions.

Do I need to be able to swim?
You should be comfortable in the water. You wear an impact vest and the instructor stays with you in lessons.
